Red Line Terminus

UH–Downtown is a station on the METRORail Red Line in Houston, Texas (USA), and it is the northern terminus of the Red Line. The station is located on top of the Main Street viaduct at the campus of the University of Houston–Downtown (UHD).

Upon arrival, incoming passengers deboard the train and the operator switches cabs for the return trip. (METRORail trains have one cab for each direction of travel.) After about a seven minute layover the train departs for the Fannin South station. Sometimes during peak travel times, one train will wait for the next train to pull in onto the other track before departing.

This station is located on top of the Main Street viaduct. Due to space limitations, it has an extremely narrow platform. As a result, the ticket vending machines are located on the property of the University of Houston–Downtown.
